Stauffenberg
Book
Juli 20th, 1944, book author: Gerd R. Ueberschar

Contents: The name of Claus Count Schenk von Stauffenberg represents the resistance against Hitler. On July 20th 1944 Stauffenberg carried a bomb into the bunker at Wolf's Lair but Hitler survived the attempt of assassination. Stauffenberg paid, like many of his fellow conspirators, with his life. The failed coup entered the history books as remarkable "rebellion of conscience".
The renowned historian Gerd R. Ueberschär portrays the historical developments and the motivations of the group of insurgents in detail - from their first plans of operation "Valkyrie" to the very day of July 20th 1944 to the execution of the group and the relentless prosecution of their relatives. An important testimony of the German resistance in the Third Reich. (source: S. Fischer Verlag)
